He enjoyed visits to the zoo, lake trips with family, and being cuddled by his mom while listening to a great book. David's life drastically changed when he became a first-grader. if this book was based off a story he made up he could easily write for the fathers point of view, but since it is a bibliography of his past that is impossible. and it is possible she had a mental problem, but it is also possible that when she became an alcoholic and her and her husband went through bad times that she saw dave's father in him and took it out on him.
